What we collect

Anonymous analytics

When you visit the Site, we collect basic, anonymous usage data:

• Page views: which pages you visited and when, via Vercel Web Analytics. This service does not use cookies, persistent identifiers, or browser fingerprinting.
• Performance metrics: Core Web Vitals (load time, interactivity, layout stability) via Vercel Speed Insights, used to improve the Site's performance.
• Tool interactions: when you change your AHI value, toggle a secondary input, or click a recommendation card on the AHI Interpreter, we record the event with: a randomly-generated session identifier (stored in your browser's sessionStorage and cleared when you close the tab), the event type, the AHI value at the time, the page URL (including query parameters representing your input choices), the referring URL if any, and your browser's user-agent string. The session ID is not linked to your identity, and we do not attempt to identify the same user across separate browser sessions.

Geographic information

We may derive an approximate country (for example, "United States") from your IP address, supplied by our hosting provider. We do not store full IP addresses.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect personally identifiable information (no name, email, phone number, address) unless you proactively contact us via email.
• We do not use Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, TikTok pixel, or any pixel-based advertising tracker.
• We do not set persistent cookies for tracking or advertising. (sessionStorage is not a cookie and is cleared when you close the tab.)
• We do not collect or store any health information you might consider entering into the AHI Interpreter beyond the values themselves. We do not associate AHI values or sleep test inputs with your identity.

How we use what we collect

The data we collect is used solely to operate and maintain the Site, improve content and features, understand which content users find valuable, and detect and prevent abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share the information we collect with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

The Site is built on services provided by:

• Vercel (hosting, analytics, performance monitoring). See Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Supabase (database). See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• Inter typeface: the font used on the Site is bundled into our deployment at build time and served from the same origin as the Site. No runtime requests are made to Google's font CDN, so Google does not see your visit.

These providers process data on our behalf to operate the Site. They are not authorized to use your data for their own purposes beyond what is required to provide their services.

Affiliate links

When you click a link on the Site labeled Sponsored, you may be directed to a third-party website that has an affiliate relationship with AHIguide. The third-party site's privacy policy applies once you leave our Site. We do not control or take responsibility for third-party privacy practices.

When you click an affiliate link, we record only the click event (which card was clicked, on which page) for our own analytics. We do not pass identifiers to the third-party network beyond what is required by the affiliate program (such as a partner ID).

Your rights

You can clear your browser's sessionStorage at any time to reset your session (closing the tab does this automatically, or you can use your browser's "Clear site data" function).

You can request information about data we may have collected, request correction, or request deletion by emailing info@ahiguide.com. We try to respond within 30 days. Because we do not collect identifying information, in most cases we have no way to associate stored events with a specific person, so deletion is automatic when your session ends.

If you are a resident of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. We will honor reasonable requests under those frameworks. The Site is operated from the United States.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with the Site in a way that has resulted in data collection, please contact us at info@ahiguide.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect the data we collect, including HTTPS encryption for all Site traffic. No system is 100% secure, however, and we make no guarantees of absolute security.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Substantive changes will be reflected on the Site, and continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
