Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2, 2026
What this disclosure means
The Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 (the "Endorsement Guides") requires that we disclose any "material connection" between AHIguide and the products or services we link to. This page is that disclosure. Our intent is to be clearer than required, not vaguer.
Affiliate relationships
AHIguide, operated by Play Button Entertainment Inc., participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click a link on the Site labeled Sponsored and subsequently make a purchase or request information from the linked third party, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
The categories of affiliate relationships we participate in include:
- Oral appliance therapy (OAT) providers: custom-fit and over-the-counter oral appliances for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
- Sleep dentist directories: pay-per-call referral networks routing inquiries to AADSM-credentialed sleep dentists.
- Home sleep test providers: FDA-cleared home sleep apnea test kits.
- Insurance discount plan providers: dental discount plans relevant to sleep dentistry costs.
The specific programs and providers may change over time as we add or remove partners.
How we label affiliate links
Every link or recommendation on the Site that produces affiliate compensation is labeled with one of:
- A Sponsored pill or tag visually attached to the link.
- An inline "(Sponsored)" or "We may earn a commission" notation.
- A clear disclosure note at the top of any page where multiple affiliate links appear.
If you see an affiliate link on the Site that is not labeled as such, please email us at info@ahiguide.com so we can correct it.
What this means for our content
Our editorial recommendations follow clinical guidance from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) regardless of whether the recommended option produces a commission for us. Specifically:
- We do not adjust clinical recommendations based on commission rates.
- We do not promote products that lack a credible evidence base or that we would not personally consider using.
- We do not accept advertising in exchange for editorial coverage. Editorial decisions about which topics to cover, which interpretations to publish, and which products to mention are made independently of our affiliate relationships.
- For some clinical scenarios (for example, severe OSA, where CPAP is first-line per AASM), we recommend treatment categories where we currently have no affiliate relationship at all. We will continue to recommend in line with AASM guidance regardless of whether we have a commercial relationship in the category.
Why we accept affiliate compensation
Affiliate revenue is how we fund the Site. AHIguide does not run banner ads, does not gate content behind paywalls, and does not sell user data. Affiliate links allow us to keep all educational content open and free while supporting the costs of research, hosting, and the clinical review process described in About AHIguide.
Your rights as a reader
- You are never required to use any of our affiliate links. The information on the Site is freely available regardless of whether you click any sponsored links.
- You may use a search engine to find any product or service we mention, bypassing our affiliate links entirely.
- You may unsubscribe from any communications we send. (We do not currently send marketing communications. If we ever do, an unsubscribe option will be included.)
